Mason's night last night wasn't as good as the night before. On a scale of 1-10, the doctor rated it at a 5, which is ok. His Acidosis has been high and they are giving him some medication to help close the Patent Ductus Arteriosis which is a valve that usually closes when babies are born.
I would say he had a good day today. All of his numbers seemed relatively stable every time I went up to visit. The nurse told me that he was no longer on several different kinds of medication any more which was good as well. He moved more today than I have ever seen him. They had to start giving him some sedation because he was moving to much and burning calories and raising his heart rate. It was fun to watch him move so much it really helps us to feel like he's there and alive. So far they haven't detected any irreversible long term life problems.
They are going to take another look at the blood in his Brain tomorrow to see if there are any developing problems.
Tomorrow should be about the end of his Honeymoon phase where things can get worse for premies. So we are glad that he has had a couple good days to face harder days if they come, hopefully not.
We are planning to be released tomorrow. Maija-Liisa is doing just fine and walking all around the hospital. We are ready to be home and out of the hospital but will continue to visit Mason daily as he continues day by day. We are planning to do a graveside service with family the week after the 4th.
Thanks to everyone again for your continued thoughts and prayers. You don't realize how many loving friends and family you have until times when you need them the most.
