Saturday our ward did an Easter breakfast and Easter egg hunt. It was so fun. The breakfast was delicious- pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit, and juice. After breakfast the kids got to go outside and find eggs. Ava was so cute. First of all she loved her basket. She was happy to just have her cute easter basket. Then she realized she got to fill it with bright colorful eggs that were just laying all over the ground. She got to be a pro-easter-egg-finder. She showed everyone her eggs and let them know how many different colors of eggs she had as well. Then later she found out that the eggs had CANDY in them!
I now see how by the time we get to be adults we are not as easily pleased or excited as children. Ava would have just been fine and dandy walking around all over with her basket. But she will never again be happy with just an easter basket becasue she now knows there is supposed to be candy for her inside!
We sure had fun watching Ava enjoy her first Easter egg hunt though. Children bring joy from the little things again.
