Ava is 6!

Ava at 6
Just started 1st grade and loves school. She told me she likes school a little bit more that her birthday party.
She also told me her birthday party was more than any girl could ever wish for and it was better than she imagined it would be. So she loves school.
Her favorite color is still pink. She loves anything girly and has been known to say, "That is for boys" many times which refusing something not feminine enough.
She loves dresses and bows and has recently started to want to do her own hair. She can give herself baths all by herself.
When walking to school today she totally left me and B in the dust on her scooter and was all the way to the school before I even made it to the crosswalk. She is totally independent and loves doing things herself...except for the occasional time she will become shy and need my help to knock on a friends door for some reason.
Ava is friends with everyone. She loves to talk and play with anyone who is fun and will play with her and be nice. This is why she had 19 girls come to her birthday party. It was crazy! Ava was in absolute heaven being surrounded by a huge group of screamy, jumpy, giggly girls. (Bennett was in heaven too I might add haha!)
Ava is a HUGE bookworm. She will read for a couple hours every day. She has read Ella enchanted, matilda, lots of American girls, Fablehaven and dozens more books this summer. She is usually reading more than one book at a time which drives me crazy! :)
Ava is a pack rat and a huge "collector." She loves finding rocks on our vacations or walks, or anything else she randomly finds such as a tiny spring she found at wal mart. She would be devestated if I threw away any of her treasures. Cleaning out her room was quite an adventure the other day. We spent about 3 hours getting it nice and organized for back to school and I couldn't believe how much junk she had collected.
Ava loves to write and pretend to be a teacher. She loves any sort of art project and is always getting her art kit out.
She loves to play games and her and I will play games during Bennett's naps a lot of the time. She is getting to the point where the games she likes are actually fun for me too :) Some of our favorites are Rat-a-tat cat, sleeping queens, spot it, and she recently got No-stress chess for her birthday so we are going to start learning how to play chess together.
She still loves to learn. She got snap-circuits for her birthday as well (I am hoping to turn her into a science nerd if you were wondering- between the chess and the snap circuits). She spent over 2 hours playing with it with Jared see how circuits are formed and doing fun things like making a fan go and turning on music that played happy birthday.
Ava is still 60% for height and 40th for weight.
Ava is doing a dance company this year. She will  get to perform in the nutcracker which she is soo excited about. She will also be starting to learn Jazz as part of the company. She will go twice a week. I am interested to see if she feels too busy between that and her let's play music class. Honestly I think she will thrive and love being so stimulated...it will be me feeling "busy" and like a taxi driver.
Ava is such a great big sister. She helps Bennett do and learn so many things. She plays with him so well most of the time. They have their moments but overall I couldn't ask for a better oldest sibling for the rest of my kids. Ava is so excited to have another sister! She nuzzles my belly ever night before bed and gives it a kiss to tell her little sister good night.

I seriously just love Ava with my whole heart. She is such a special girl with a warm loving heart and a brain to match. She is our cutie-patootie and I am so grateful for her!
